Location: Onsite – Novi, Michigan
Job Description:
Role Overview:
- Focus on maximizing range and energy efficiency for electric and hybrid vehicles
- Improve vehicle performance by reducing energy loss and optimizing system efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and track range and efficiency targets for EV and hybrid vehicles
- Perform simulations using MATLAB/Simulink to optimize:
- Aerodynamics
- Rolling resistance
- Powertrain efficiency
- Work with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, thermal, powertrain)
- Identify energy loss areas and implement improvements
- Correlate simulation data with real-world vehicle testing
- Provide insights and recommendations for design improvements
- Develop methods for continuous energy efficiency improvement
- Conduct vehicle testing under different:
- Temperatures
- Terrains
- Load conditions
- Perform model building and script writing
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in MATLAB/Simulink (Powertrain Blockset preferred)
- Understanding of:
- Aerodynamics
- Rolling resistance
- EV systems (battery, regenerative braking, powertrain control)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
Preferred / Bonus Skills:
- Experience with GT Suite
- Co-simulation (MATLAB GT Suite)
- Knowledge of EV thermal systems
- Tool development experience
Qualification:
- Master’s or PhD
Salary : $95,000
