Manufacturing & Industrial Engineer
Location: Dublin, CA (Onsite)
Summary
Seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Industrial Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence, process optimization, productivity improvement, Lean transformation, and operational efficiency within a precision manufacturing environment supporting optical and microscopy products.
Manufacturing Engineering Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), pilot builds, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
- Improve productivity, yield, takt time, throughput, and OEE.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, workstations, and assembly equipment.
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA activities.
- Support automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and R&D teams.
Industrial Engineering Responsibilities
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, ECRS, and waste elimination.
- Perform Value Stream Mapping (Current & Future State).
- Conduct MOST and MODAPTS time studies.
- Perform VA/NVA/RNVA analysis.
- Execute line balancing studies using Yamazumi charts.
- Analyze production capacity, utilization, bottlenecks, and headcount optimization.
- Improve factory flow, logistics, and material movement.
- Develop factory layouts using AutoCAD or Factory CAD tools.
- Conduct ergonomics studies and productivity improvements.
- Monitor production KPIs including Cycle Time, Yield, UPH, UPPH, Headcount, and Quality metrics.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.
- Improve operational throughput and manufacturing efficiency.
- Reduce waste and indirect labor costs.
- Support supplier and contract manufacturing improvements.
- Train operators, technicians, and junior engineers on Lean and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
- 7-10 years of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering experience.
- Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, MOST, MODAPTS, Line Balancing, PFMEA, CAPA, RCA, and Factory Layout.
- Background in one or more of the following industries:
