About the Role
This role involves developing and releasing body-in-white (BIW) and exterior body components using 3D CAD tools across concept, design, and launch phases.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assemblies, sections, and 2D drawings as per design standards
- Perform design feasibility studies, packaging assessments, and engineering trade-offs
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability, quality, and dimensional accuracy
- Collaborate with CAE teams for crash, durability, NVH, and structural requirements
- Support engineering changes, design updates, and configuration management using PLM systems
- Assist in prototype builds, virtual validation, and physical testing
- Work closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with cost, weight, timing, and quality targets
