Medical Billing Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Revenue Cycle Manager
Proven Autism Therapies provides early intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA), Speech Therapy, and psychological testing services for young children with autism. Proven provides a cheerful and child-friendly setting where children, technicians, and families interact and support each other. Our treatment plans support children’s verbal and non-verbal communication, social-emotional relationships and behavioral challenges unique to each child and family. Through comprehensive oversight and evaluation of individual programs, we strive to provide the best service, so each child reaches their full potential at home and in the community. This role will be part of the RCM team and will work closely with patient families, and prior authorization teams. The primary responsibility is to ensure patient documentation is up to date and accurate. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proven creates a good working relationship with families and prioritizes strong customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly Insurance Eligibility Checks
- Primary and Secondary Insurance
- Full benefit checks (as needed)
- Works with patient families to obtain insurance cards and coordinate insurance changes
- Works with Autism Insurance Resource Center to resolve coverage issues
- Obtains prescriptions from pediatrician for Speech and Occupational Therapies
- Release of Information (ROI)
- Tracks all incoming ROI requests
- Collects and submits documentation to insurance carriers or patients as requested
- Maintains Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Includes uploading patient files to system
- Update Patient Demographics
- Adds all new patient insurance to EMR
- Assists with insurance audits
- Reviews daily insurance mail
- Special Projects as requested
- General Office Support
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of CPT Codes and insurance authorization process for behavioral health preferred; training will be provided to highly qualified candidates
- Ability to use compassion and judgment while maintaining strict confidentiality. Strict adherence and understanding of HIPAA.
