Location: Hybrid. Must be in the Hartford area and the South Shore of Boston

We are looking for a strategic, empathetic, and highly organized Director of Human Resources to lead our people operations and ensure our team has the support they need to fulfill our clinical mission.

The Role

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for the development and execution of the people strategies that support clinical services and organizational growth. In this role, you will act as a primary advisor to the Executive and Senior Management teams, ensuring that our human capital strategy directly enables our business objectives.

 

Compensation

  • $90,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience and senior-level qualifications).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President/COO, and executive team to design and implement long-range people strategies that align with the company’s mission, vision, and growth targets.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of all HR functions, including talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Act as a lead advisor to senior management on organizational structure, workforce planning, and change management to optimize clinical and operational performance.
  • Architect and oversee innovative, cost-effective recruitment and branding strategies to attract and retain top-tier clinical and administrative talent in a competitive market.
  • Direct the design and administration of competitive compensation structures, incentive programs, and comprehensive benefit plans (Health, Welfare, and PTO) to drive employee satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.
  • Lead a performance management culture that prioritizes accountability, professional growth, and high employee retention through continuous feedback and leadership development.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with federal and state labor laws, specifically focusing on the regulatory landscapes of CT and MA, while implementing HR best practices to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Manage HRIS (Paycom) and payroll integrity. Utilize HR measurement systems, employee satisfaction data, and exit trends to provide the executive team with actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee company-wide non-clinical training and compliance programs to meet state, federal, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

What You Bring

  • 7–10 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. Direct experience with Paycom is highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Connecticut (CT) and Massachusetts (MA) employment laws, regulations, and processes.
  • A high degree of integrity and trust. You lead by example with a constructive and positive attitude.
  • The ability to manage competing demands and pivot strategies to fit the evolving needs of a growing organization.

 

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
