Experienced Diesel Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join a clients team located in Rockdale, IL. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills who can work independently as well as part of a team.

Training & Experience:
Experienced Diesel Technicians should possess the following training and experience:

• Minimum of six (6) years practical experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Specialized training and or experience in the overhaul of major components (i.e., Mack-Cummings-Detroit-Diesel Engines, etc.)

Experience needed:
Properly diagnose, overhaul, adjust and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment including but not limited to the following:

• Engines (Gas & Diesel) - Diagnose, remove and rebuild and reinstallation as necessary.
• Transmissions (Manual & Automatic) - Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation as necessary.
• Differential Power / Dividers - Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation as necessary.
• Starters & Alternators - Diagnose, remove, repair and replace as center.
• Air Conditioning Systems - Trained / Certified, diagnose electrical and mechanical defects, repair, component replacement, evaluation and charging.
• Fan Clutches - Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation as necessary.
• Power Steering Systems - Diagnose, adjust and repair as necessary.
• Electrical Brake / Cooling Systems - Diagnose, remove, rebuild, reinstallation and adjustment as necessary.
• Clutches - Diagnose, remove and reinstallation as necessary.
• PTO Systems - Installation of PTO System and related hydraulic components. Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation and adjustment as necessary.
• Tires - Remove, install and algin chassis.
• Engine Electronics (Gas & Diesel) - Adjust and repair as necessary.

Duties
Must be about to perform these duties with no assistance:

• Preform all levels of preventative maintenance
• Identify and determine parts require for repair and disassembled units.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document appropriately
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles as necessary
• Performance and prospective duties in a timely and efficient manner.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to at least 50lbs
• Ability to provide the above major functions, specific duties and with the experience listed above
• Good Driving Record
• Ability to drive automatic transmissions and use of PTO
• Superb communication skills (verbal & written)
• Computer skills
• Team player
• Ability to multi-task

Working conditions:
- Working outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Exposure to used cooking oil odors.

Weekly pay: $29-$33 per hour based on experience.
