Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and approachable former or current LEO or military member to work as an armed Security Guard. As a frontline representative of Priority Protection Group, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a secure and positive environment for our clients. You’ll observe, report, and respond to incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

 Maintain a visible and professional presence at assigned sites.

 Conduct regular patrols of property, buildings, and access points.

 Monitor for safety hazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations.

 Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or disturbances.

 Write detailed and accurate incident reports using proper grammar and format.

 Communicate clearly with clients, employees, and law enforcement as needed.

 Utilize verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when necessary.

 Support a culture of teamwork, awareness, and professionalism.

Minimum Requirements

 High school diploma or equivalent

 Valid State of Utah Armed Guard License or POST certification that is current

 Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification

 Reliable transportation

 Valid driver’s license

 Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

 Excellent written communication with proper grammar and punctuation

 Military or LEO experience

 Pass a drug screen

 Pass a criminal history check

Preferred Qualifications

 2 years of experience in security, public safety, or related field

 Certifications in less-than-lethal tools

 Demonstrated experience in verbal de-escalation or conflict management

 Pass a criminal history check

 Pass a 13-panel pre-employment drug screen

 Pass an employer reference check

 Show proficiencty with their firearm and pass our company qualification before starting their first armed guard shift with our firearms instructor

 Complete a 90-day probation period, during which you will be required to complete

CPR/AED certification and one less-than-lethal certification, if you don’t already have

current certificates. These certificates are provided by the employer at no cost to you
