Plumber Helper
Priority Plumbing Contractors- Fuquay-Varina, N.C.
Job Type - Full-time
Pay Range - starting out at $20 hourly
Shift and Schedule - Monday - Friday
Experience - not required but experience preferred
Priority Plumbing Contractors is hiring a Plumber Helper in the Fuquay-Varina/ Angier area. This is a 40 hour-a-week position. This is a great opportunity to become part of a growing family-owned company.
Summary:
Assists with the installation of plumbing pipe, valves, fittings, and fixtures in homes contracted with the company. Works in a variety of construction areas under constant direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following-Other duties may be assigned:
- Holds, positions, and read tape measurement to assist
- Places and moves equipment and material
- Assists and transports co-workers with materials, tools and supplies as needed.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate all tools and equipment required for repair and maintenance
- Ability to follow directions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Perform other routine duties.
- Positions and turns clamps- screws, bolts, and hammers parts together; uses tools and equipment properly and only if instructed.
- Assemble fittings and valves for installation
- Testing plumbing system for leaks and other problems
- Modifies length of pipe, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.
- Install support pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installations.
- Cleans work area, equipment, machines, tools; makes sure tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and securely.
- Complies with company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.
- Ability to anticipate what a coworker needs next on the job-site.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and have valid driver license
- Must provide own transportation to the company office.
- Drug free
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Willingness to learn.

- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships
- Resourceful, self-motivation, and honesty./
- Respectful to clients, managers/owners, coworkers, equipment and properties.

- Must become knowledgeable and have the ability to safely operate hand and power
- Be able to read and understand a tape measure.
Physical Capabilities:
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment- pipes, water heaters, toilets, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Maintain the ability to bend/stoop, stretch, kneel, climb, reach above shoulder level as needed.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, while observing proper safety precautions.
- Being comfortable working in confined spaces and heights
