Position Summary
The Corporate HR Generalist/Recruiter is responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources and talent acquisition across a multi-facility nursing home organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to facility leadership by managing full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, performance management support, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong recruiting expertise, working knowledge of employment laws, and experience supporting healthcare operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for corporate and facility-based positions, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), therapy staff, administrative personnel, and leadership roles.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified healthcare professionals in highly competitive labor markets.
- Create and post job advertisements on multiple platforms, including job boards, social media, and healthcare-specific recruitment sites.
- Source candidates through networking, direct outreach, employee referrals, career fairs, and community partnerships.
- Conduct candidate screenings, phone interviews, and coordinate hiring manager interviews.
- Facilitate pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screenings, license verification, and employment eligibility verification.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and provide reports on time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, turnover trends, and staffing needs.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical nursing and clinical positions.
Human Resources Generalist Functions
- Assist with employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a positive employee experience and regulatory compliance.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Support employee relations efforts by investigating workplace concerns and assisting with conflict resolution.
- Maintain employee records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Administer HR programs including performance management, recognition initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with benefit enrollment, leave administration, workers' compensation coordination, and HRIS data management.
- Support corrective action processes and performance improvement plans in collaboration with facility and corporate leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare industry regulations.
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities
- Maintain working knowledge of employment regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, OSHA, and state-specific labor laws.
- Assist facilities in maintaining compliance with healthcare-related employee credentialing requirements.
- Support HR audits and accreditation reviews as required.
- Ensure employee files and recruiting documentation meet regulatory standards and company policies.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Assist with employee retention initiatives and workforce development programs.
- Coordinate employee recognition and engagement activities.
- Analyze turnover trends and provide recommendations to improve retention and employee satisfaction.
- Partner with facility leadership to address staffing challenges and workforce planning needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience.
- Experience recruiting for healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living environments preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruitment tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multi-site healthcare operations.
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience with healthcare staffing and nursing recruitment.
- Knowledge of healthcare licensing and credential verification processes.
