We are seeking an experienced Senior Prepress Technician to prepare, troubleshoot, optimize, and color-correct packaging files for flexographic printing. This role supports multiple printers, specifications and requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare production-ready packaging files for flexographic printing; proofing, and plate production
- Perform color correction, optimizing images using press specific profiles
- Ensure files meet press specifications for consistent output
- Troubleshoot supplied files using industry-standard software
- Interpret job tickets, instructions, and communications, identifying and resolving gaps or inconsistencies
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and uniform file quality
- Utilize content management tools to retrieve and reference images and asset
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
- Several years of experience in prepress, print production, or packaging graphics
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- Experience with Esko (Automation Engine, ArtPro ) and GMG Color (OpenColor)
- Strong understanding of flexographic printing, packaging workflows, and color management
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical training in Graphic Arts or a related field
- Experience working with multiple customer specifications and press requirements
Compensation
This is a senior-level technical position compensated within Printrons established pay structure. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, demonstrated technical skill, and internal equity, and is aligned with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
