Overview
The Offset Press Supervisor oversees the print crew in the set up and operation of each press. This role is vital in ensuring precise color management and efficient production to manufacture a variety of items for the packaging industry.
Duties
- Supervise press crew (9) in manufacturing of products within their assigned press and shift communicating a clear understanding of task expectation in quality and productivity.
- Monitor production schedule through scheduling software.
- Reviews job ticket instructions to determine printing specifications, machine set up, and supplies needed.
- Constant walkthrough to ensure press crew is working efficiently, safely, and print quality is consistent with job specifications.
- Maintain quality control procedures inspecting prints for quality, color, consistency, registration, etcetera.
- Train and mentor press operators and feeders on machine setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Work with employees to properly document any incorrect or non-recorded information necessary for proper set up and operation.
- Keep upper management informed on daily production including miscues, discrepancies, errors, etcetera.
- Operate press when necessary.
- Work with operators on set up of presses adjusting and setting controls to attain target speeds.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude to positively interact with customers during press checks.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and assist in repair of machine malfunctions. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Ordering & inventory of inks and supplies.
Job Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in Printing & Packaging industry.
- Minimum 5 Years in supervisory role.
- Minimum 10 years in operating a large format press, preferably in folding cartons.
- Knowledge of Print Point software preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and operation of RMGT (41'), Komori (40'), Komori (28'), or similar presses.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience.
- Must work 9 hours M-F starting at 6:00am and most Saturdays. Exempt position.
Pay: $72,800.00 - $81,120.00 per year
