Quality Compliance Manager
Location: Orange County, CA
Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 annually, negotiable based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise in quality management and compliance.
Position Summary
The Quality Compliance Manager will lead and maintain a quality-focused manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining quality systems based on ISO standards, ensuring compliance with certifying bodies, and managing all documentation related to safety and quality. The Quality Manager will also oversee the company’s safety program and supervise the Quality Assistant Lead.
Experience in launching new certifications related to food safety, medical packaging, and GMP compliance is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management
· Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
· Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
· Lead internal and external audits; coordinate with certifying bodies to maintain and expand certifications (ISO, SQF, FSC, GMP, HACCP).
· Drive initiatives for potential new certifications in food safety, medical packaging, and GMP compliance.
· Manage non-conformance reports (Deviations), root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), SCAR reports, and other QMS documentation.
· Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and inspection records.
· Collaborate with all departments to embed quality into every stage of the process.
· Complete and manage customer and vendor forms related to quality and compliance.
· Provide KPI and measurable output reports for upper management.
Safety Management
· Oversee the company’s safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
· Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training programs.
· Maintain safety documentation, including incident reports, SDS, and training logs.
· Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.
Leadership & Team Development
· Supervise and mentor the Quality Assistant Lead, providing guidance and performance feedback.
· Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and safety throughout the organization.
· Lead cross-functional teams in quality and safety initiatives.
Training & Development
· Develop and implement a Train-the-Trainer program for quality, safety, and compliance training.
· Conduct training sessions for department leads and supervisors on ISO standards, safety protocols, and quality procedures.
· Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and create tailored programs.
· Monitor training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in printed packaging or related industries.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
· Experience with certification audits and regulatory compliance; experience launching new certifications (SQF, GMP, HACCP) is highly desirable.
· Proficient in quality tools such as Six Sigma, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
