Prepress Digital Quality Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our print materials meet the highest standards of quality and precision. You will be at the forefront of the prepress process, utilizing your expertise in color management, graphic design, and quality control to deliver outstanding results. Your attention to detail and technical skills will help us maintain excellence in our manufacturing processes, ensuring that every print job is executed flawlessly.
This role is essential in maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and color integrity of every digital and hard copy deliverable produced. You’ll perform final inspections of production files and proofs, ensuring they meet print vendor specifications, brand guidelines, and internal quality standards before release.
In this position, you’ll work closely with production artists, account managers, and the operations team to verify that every workflow step has been completed accurately. Your meticulous eye for detail and understanding of prepress and print processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspection of all digital fi les and hard copy proofs for content accuracy, completeness, and visual quality.
- Follow and confirm the Quality Control Checklist to ensure all fi le requirements, critical content, and visual standards meet company and client expectations.
- Verify that production fi les comply with print vendor specific cations and that all project instructions in the internal MIS system are correctly followed.
- Perform final digital QC checks and hard copy proof reviews (GMG/Epson) for both color and content accuracy.
- Assemble and process hard copy proofs, including dielines and special coatings, for brand color visual inspections.
- Maintain organized job fi les with approved colors, sign-offs, and quality audit documentation.
- Update projects and tasks within Esko and GMG workflows to ensure accurate tracking and completion of all workflow steps.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5–10 years in digital quality assurance, prepress, or print production
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Esko tools, GMG proofing, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Print Knowledge: Strong understanding of prepress assembly, trapping, and print processes (litho, flexo, gravure)
- Color Accuracy: Exceptional color perception; able to pass the Munsell Hue Test
- Detail Orientation: Meticulous review skills with a commitment to precision and quality Problem Solving: Able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve QC issues efficiently
- Organization: Strong time management and adaptability across multiple projects
- Collaboration: Communicates clearly, works well independently and within teams
- Reliability: Dependable, consistent, and accountable in daily work, meeting schedules, and deadlines
