Prepress Technician / Manager
Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, preflight, and optimize digital files for print production according to job specifications.
- Utilize industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Suite, RIP/prepress tools) to create, proof, and manage print-ready files.
- Troubleshoot color, layout, and file issues while maintaining production deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to clarify job requirements, proofs, and corrections.
- Perform quality control checks on proofs and final output to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain organized prepress workflows, file archives, and documentation for repeat jobs.
- Stay current on new print technologies, file formats, and color management best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Prepress Technician or Operator in a high-volume commercial print environment (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and RIP/prepress software.
- Deep understanding of color theory, ICC profiling, imposition, and print-ready file creation.
- Strong problem-solving ability and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with both offset and digital print processes, including large format or variable-data printing (preferred).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
