Lead DTG Printing Operator (DAY SHIFT)

Summary

As a Lead DTG Print Operator, you will be essential in the Direct-to-Garment printing process, overseeing the operation of printing machinery, particularly Kornit Atlas printers and multiple print operators. Reporting to the Production Manager / GM, your role will focus on ensuring high-quality, low-defect prints across the team while motivating and enabling high team performance and adhering to safety and quality standards. You will utilize core skills in leadership, selflessness, production and digital printing to ensure production demands are met. Strong communication skills, printing and operating experience and interpersonal skills will be vital as you collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and maintain equipment efficacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead team by example with excellent printing abilities of speed and quality
• Set up, operate, and calibrate printing machines with customer-supplied artwork in an efficient high production environment
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions
• Enhance order completion, prioritizing expedited work for team
• Engage with team members to ensure they are meeting production targets while comprehending and understanding priorities
• Remove obstacles for team members to ensure highest completion rate and lowest defect rate
• Complete end-of-shift checks to oversee that your team leaves their workstations in top condition for the next shift
• Maintain inventory control (consumables such as ink levels, tanks, and print heads)
• Train team on proper printing techniques and machine maintenance based on established standards operating procedure
• Help your team resolve scheduling issues and provide oversight of timesheet management
• Ensure that the teams have what they need to succeed, including needed materials and accurate printing parameters
• Step in where you're needed with tasks to fill production gaps and keep your team on track
• Work with Production and Customer Service
• Execute orders in accordance with the production plan and technological documentation
• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
• Work and train team in accordance with company standards and OSHA safety procedures and Standard Operating Protocols
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• All other Duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 years of relevant work experience in production/printing machines
• Technical post-secondary studies diploma or Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required
