What You’ll Do
As a member of the Executive Team, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of Principle Automotive, ensuring technology is not just a support function, but a driver of growth, performance, and competitive advantage across the organization. As the Director of IT, you will own the performance, security, and scalability of all technology systems, leading IT strategy while staying closely connected to execution to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.
You will lead a multi-functional IT team across help desk, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and development, building a high-performing function with clear accountability, development, and standards. You will partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to modernize systems, strengthen cybersecurity, and build a scalable technology environment that supports the company’s continued growth. You will also manage vendor relationships, evaluate new technologies, and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and the overall associate experience.
Responsibilities of the Director of Information Technology (IT Director)
- IT Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute a clear IT roadmap aligned with company goals, ensuring systems support growth, efficiency, and scalability.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, and develop the IT team, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards.
- Infrastructure and Systems Management: Oversee all IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to ensure reliability, uptime, and performance across locations.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Partner with the cybersecurity analyst to strengthen security posture, manage risk, and ensure compliance with best practices and regulations.
- Help Desk and Support Operations: Ensure timely, effective support for all associates, improving response times, service quality, and user experience.
- Software and Development Oversight: Guide internal development efforts and system integrations to improve efficiency and eliminate manual processes.
- Vendor and Technology Management: Evaluate, select, and manage third-party vendors and systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strategic alignment.
- Data and Systems Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline systems, improve data integrity, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Project Management: Lead and prioritize IT projects, ensuring timely execution and measurable business impact.
