Plant Scheduler/Inventory Control Specialist - Manufacturing
Principal Manufacturing is seeking a Plant Scheduler/Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.
The Plant Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining the production schedule to meet customer delivery, efficiency, and capacity requirements while also ensuring accurate inventory records across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. This role plays a critical link between planning, production, purchasing, and warehouse operations, supporting schedule adherence, inventory integrity, and operational excellence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling and Planning
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production schedules
- Balance customer demand, machine capacity, labor availability and material constrain
- Release and manage work orders in ERP system (PLEX)
- Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Coordinate production priorities with Operations-department lead, Sales/Client Relations and Master Schedulers
- Participate in SIOP, MPS, and capacity planning activities
Inventory Record Accuracy
- Own and maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Lead cycle count, investigate, variance and implement corrective actions
- Ensure all inventory transactions are timely documented
- Prepare, monitor, improve and report inventory accuracy
Materials & Supply Coordination
- Ensure materials availability
- Ensure BOM accuracy, routings and item master data integrity
- Support inventory optimization
- Improve data accuracy
- Prepare and communicate schedule status
- Support data driven analysis and recommendations
Additional Responsibilities
- Train Production Member on inventory transaction
- Assist with internal and external audits related to inventor
Required Skill/Knowledge:
- Demonstrate basic math skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Previous experience in material handling, ERP system, scheduling preferred
- Ability to deal with changes, delays and unexpected changes.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume-automotive manufacturer
Education Level / Required Certification:
Associate's Degree with 2-5 year's related experience in manufacturing, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
