What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity Football Assistant Coach position at Princeton Joint Unified School District?
GENERAL DUTIES:
The successful candidate will be able to instruct and coach students. The candidate will also help arrange playing schedules and perform all coaching responsibilities associated with the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must meet requirements listed below.
- Previous high school coaching experience.
- Must be certified in CPR/First Aid (provided as needed).
- Must be willing and able to work with staff, student athletes, administration, and the Athletic Booster Club.
- Must have certification in one of two courses (provided as needed): CIF/NFHS Fundamental of Coaching (online) OR CIF/ASEP Coaching Principles (classroom)
- Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods of teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character.
- The physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached.
- Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport.
