Overview:
Copper River Nouveau (CRN) is the Prince William Sound Science Center’s annual fundraising gala, set for June 13, 2026. It’s a celebration of regional resilience, science, education, community, and wild salmon. During this event, we honor the effort it takes from the Science Center and our partners near and far to maintain community resilience among healthy ecosystems.
The Prince William Sound Science Center solicits applications for a temporary Auction Coordinator for CRN. The Auction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the online and live auctions. You will report directly to the Copper River Nouveau Event Coordinator and work with key staff and consultants, board members, and other volunteers.
Tasks include, but are not limited to, pre-event solicitations and donor correspondence; item data entry; photographing auction items for online presentation; day of event set-up and operational assistance; packaging and mailing auction items; sending tax receipts; and other follow up requirements.
Hours will be part-time and flexible March through mid-May. Mid-May through mid-June may require full-time work. Total time for the project will be approximately 320 hours of work and is expected to continue through June 2026. Must be available all day and evening on Saturday, June 13, 2026 (this position is eligible for overtime).
This role may be carried out in a remote / hybrid capacity from March through mid-May, with presence in Cordova, Alaska required from mid-May through mid-June.
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. Strong organizational and communication skills and a high level of self-direction are required. If planning on working remotely, a candidate must have access to a reliable computer and a dependable, high-speed internet connection. Current university students are encouraged to apply.

This position will require lifting objects up to 30 pounds.
Salary and benefits:
The hourly wage for this role ranges from $15 to $20, based on experience. This position is overtime eligible. As this is a temporary, part-time position, the sole benefit provided is workers' compensation coverage.
