This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment of $2,500 will be paid after you have completed 90 days of employment. The final $2,500 installment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Specialist, you will manage a very diverse caseload where your daily tasks will be to use your
creativity and problem-solving skills not only to support your clients but also our stakeholders as

Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, counseling, or other related human services.
1-2 years related experience in the delivery of human services for adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
Preferences:
Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, counseling, or other related human services.
Experience in the delivery of human services for adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
Experience working in an agency providing behavioral healthcare.
Experience providing vocational services to adults diagnosed with SMI other co-occurring
disorders, adults on the autism spectrum and Mild Intellectual Disabilities.
Understanding of the American with Disability Act.
Experience working with the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS).
Experience collaborating with the business community.
Experience with managing very active caseloads requiring high organizational skills and
working independently in the community.
Bilingual English Spanish
Work Incentive Specialist Advocate Certification.
Experience working with school counselors/ Student Pre-Employment Services.
Must possess a valid driver's license;
Must pass DMV record check;
Must pass TB test;
Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint based National
Criminal History Record Check;
Certification in First Aide and Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, as required.
Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of
Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for
Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related
to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and
neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
