About This Role:
Customer Care Admin with the Animal Services Bureau typical duties include helping customers with the adoption process; reuniting lost pets with their owners; responding to customer inquiries in person, via telephone and via email; intake and triage of stray or lost pets.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of administrative / clerical experience, handling cash.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
•Experience working in an animal shelter environment.
•Basic knowledge of animal behavior, common animal medical conditions and breed identification.
•Experience providing administrative support in a front office environment.
•Experience with customer service.
•Experience utilizing database software.
•Excellent organizational skills.
•Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
•Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
•Knowledge of Virginia and Prince William County Animal Laws are a plus
Special Requirements:
All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a Polygraph Examination and a thorough Background Investigation. Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical evaluation.
Work Schedule:
The Prince William County Animal Shelter is open 6 days a week. This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day). The successful candidate’s schedule will include regular weekend work.
Starting Salary Range: $29.06 - $34.19/hr. We offer great benefits including:
