Prince William County’s Department of Facilities and Fleet Management is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the Buildings and Grounds Division. This dynamic team is made up of passionate and skilled professionals dedicated to maintaining County facilities and providing exceptional service to both residents and employees.
As the Administrative Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting internal operations, managing confidential information, coordinating administrative processes, and contributing to the overall success of the division, all while delivering top-notch customer service.

About This Role:
This position will report to the Assistant Director of Buildings & Grounds and is responsible for actively managing the division’s Administrative Staff. Key responsibilities include delegating work assignments, reviewing staff submissions for payroll and reconciliations, promoting staff professional development.
The Administrative Coordinator will also be responsible for responding to emails, managing recruitment paperwork and onboarding for the division, coordinating the employee evaluation process, generating work requests as needed, and reviewing correspondence and other documents for accuracy, grammar, and punctuation. Additional duties include managing the bi-weekly payroll process, ordering supplies, maintaining unit inventory, recruiting and interviewing candidates for vacant positions, documenting and presenting staff training, and providing administrative support to the Assistant Director and other division leaders as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related experience.
Preferences:
- Three or more years of experience of supervising administrative staff.
- Three or more years of experience processing payroll.
- Have experience with the Microsoft office suite.
- Experience supporting executive-level staff.
- Three or more years of experience working in a work order management system.
Special Requirements:
None
Work Schedule:
37.5 hours a week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Hiring Salary Range:
$28.32 to $38.11
