Machinist - CNC

Prince Metal Stampings is a leading automotive metal stamping manufacturer seeking a Machinist to join our tooling department. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by performing precision machining related to stamping die repair, modification, and tooling maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual machining equipment and working in a toolroom or die repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine precision components for stamping dies, fixtures, and tooling repairs.

• Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.   

• Perform machining operations related to die maintenance, modification, and repair.

• Build, modify, and repair fixtures and jigs used in production and tooling.   

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches.   

• Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.   

• Support tooling department projects and machining needs.   

• Select proper cutting tools and machining parameters including speeds and feeds.   

• Maintain toolroom organization and support 5S workplace standards.

• Safely operate material handling equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts when required.   

Qualifications

• 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or toolroom environment.

• Experience operating manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders.   

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.   

• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment.

• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.   

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.   

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.   

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive tool and die or metal stamping experience.

• CNC machining or programming experience a PLUS

• CNC mill experience 

• Welding or fabrication experience.   

• Experience with SolidWorks or CAM software.   

• Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes.
