The Prince George’s County Health Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Naloxone Trainer, (Public Service Aide II) grade G04 position, in the Behavioral Health Division.
About the Position
The Naloxone Trainer position provides assistance to the Prince George’s County health Department (PGCHD) who are responsible for the Maryland Office of Overdose Response (MOOR) grant. The MOOR grant aims to expand overdose prevention resources and education via harm reduction through training, distribution of overdose prevention supplies, and overdose education and communication resources for high-risk populations in areas of PGC disproportionately impacted by overdoses. Specifically, this project will address three population groups: 1) adults 55 , 2) adults in physically intensive job sectors (construction laborers, food service), and 3) unhoused populations.

- Support with creating and/or disseminating overdose prevention education materials (e.g., brochures, flyers).
- Conduct Naloxone train-the-trainer trainings with the community.
- Organize, attend, and participate in all project meetings.
- Assist in collaborating with local organizations for partnerships, trainings, and educational material dissemination.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate, or equivalent, and/or from no previous work experience to two years' experience in community outreach.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow employees.
- Prior experience working in overdose prevention education, mental/behavioral health, or public health fields. Including providing education or training to the general public.
- Prior experience with direct community engagement or contact in the context of public health, psychology, behavioral health or another relevant field.
