What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Court Clinician position at Prince George County, Virginia?
Prince George County Recovery Court is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Recovery Court Clinician. This position will be responsible for providing direct clinical, mental health and/or substance use disorder services to include crisis services. Serves as a clinician for the Recovery Court Program. Serves individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders in the Recovery Court program. Duties include completing intake assessment and diagnostic formation, risk assessment, crisis intervention, supporting counseling and advocacy for appropriate level of care whether that be with this clinician or a partnering organization. This position requires a commitment to high quality customer service to justice involved individuals and will have regular contact with the court, the jail and the community.
For the complete job description, click here.Extensive knowledge of the principles, theories, and methods of the psychological and social development of the individual; knowledge of intake procedures, social history development, and interviewing techniques; knowledge of major schools of treatment of emotionally and socially disturbed individuals; knowledge of psychiatric, psychological, and/or sociological terminology and concepts. Must have the ability to conduct mental health assessments and apply treatment approaches/modalities; ability to formulate diagnoses for clients with acute, chronic, severe mental illness; ability to diagnostically interpret data obtained from psychological test results, social histories, and interviews; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public and private sector organizations, community groups, and the public; knowledge of psychotropic medications and their impact on a participant; knowledge of addictive substances and their impact on a participant; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; knowledge of Recovery Court programs; knowledge of the Matrix Model treatment plan; ability to form a relationship with and work well with other treatment partners.General knowledge of Recovery Courts, the criminal justice system, substance use disorder, serious mental illness, and community-based service providers required. Graduation from an accredited college with a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing. One year of clinical experience is preferred. Must hold a current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). It is preferred that the applicant also hold a CSAC, LSATP or MAC. Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Completion of DCJS basic skills. This position may require work outside of normal business hours.
