Job Description
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures. Willing to use a shovel and run small equipment when needed.
Qualifications
- One (1) to four (4) years of experience as a Concrete Finisher
- Pre-employment alcohol, drug testing, and a background is a condition of employment
- Must complete work accurately and follow all safety rules
- Must be familiar with relevant hand and power tools
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Organized and self-motivated
- Practice safety rules
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Safe use of hand & power tools
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift
- Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency
- Level, smooth, and shape freshly poured concrete
- Finish concrete surfaces
- Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes
- Mold expansion joints and edges
- Sprinkle stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce the prescribed finish
- Produce concrete surface
- Mix cement
- Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms
- Finish steps and stairways
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces
- Mix and pour grout
- Calculate the amounts of concrete required for each job
- Picture objects from drawings and diagrams
- Compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
- Asset in installation of pipe and backfill as required
- Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials
- It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
- Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
