Medical Malpractice Attorney – Overland Park, KS
Our client, a well-established law firm in Overland Park, is seeking a Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its team. Responsibilities
- Manage a medical malpractice caseload from intake through resolution.
- Analyze medical records and evaluate standard-of-care, causation, and damages issues.
- Identify, retain, and work closely with medical expert witnesses.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
- Take and defend depositions of physicians, nurses, experts, and other witnesses.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Communicate with clients and provide strategic case guidance.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed in Kansas and/or Missouri (dual licensure preferred).
- 1 years of medical malpractice litigation experience, plaintiff or defense.
- Comfort with complex medical terminology and records.
- Strong writing, research, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage cases independently while contributing to a team.
- Medical or nursing background a plus, but not required.
