Travel RN – Telemetry (Unit T8 / 3x12 Days)

• Licensure: Active Nevada (NV) RN license is required prior to start.
• Competency Exam: Candidates must pass a telemetry competency exam during onboarding, which includes measuring and identifying rhythm strips.
• Scheduling Requirement: Required to pick up one additional shift per 4-week schedule block.
• Call-Off Policy: Renown retains the right to call off up to 48 hours per 13-week contract due to low census (full or partial shifts).
• Certifications: NIHSS certification must be through APEX.

• Location: Reno, NV (Renown Regional Medical Center)
• Shift: 3x12 Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) / 36 Guaranteed Hours
• On-Call: No call required!
• Length: 13 weeks

• Unit Scale: 38-bed high-acuity telemetry unit.
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:6 based on patient acuity and workload.
• Phenomenal Ancillary Support:
  • Critical Care Techs (CCTs): Dedicated 24/7 ECG monitoring (nurses do not monitor their own central screens).
  • Advanced Care Techs (ACTs): Assist with transports, admit/discharge tasks, IV and Foley placement, ADLs, and limited medication administration.
  • Ancillary Teams: Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG techs, and Respiratory Therapy on-site.
• Patient Population: CHF, NSTEMI, Alcohol Withdrawal, Sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, COVID, post-procedure (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab), and Open Heart Surgery (OHS) step-down/downgrades from ICU.
• Medications: Management of non-titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, etc.).

• Hospital Scale: Renown Regional is an 800-bed, extremely high-volume Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile catchment area (the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City).
• Floating Expectations: Travelers float based on facility needs up to their competency level. May float to ICU (for telemetry/med-surg appropriate holds), general Med-Surg units, or the sister campus (Renown South Meadows).

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, dedicated Telemetry experience.
• License: Nevada RN License (in hand prior to start date).
• Certifications:
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • NIHSS (APEX specifically required)
