Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Primary Care

Duration: 1-year contract with the possibility of 1 additional year extension
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (0800–1630), Mon–Fri.
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Full-time equivalent (2,080 hrs/year per RN)
License: Current Ohio Board of Nursing license (Ohio-specific required)
Certifications: Current BLS from AHA , ACLS required.
Education: Graduation from ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program
Experience Needed: Minimum 1 year direct patient care within the last 3 years. VA experience desirable.
Special Skills Needed: Critical care nursing skills; ability to interpret cardiac rhythms; IV therapy administration; EHR documentation (CPRS/VistA); central line and ventilator care per HCS policy; defibrillator and EKG machine operation; HAPU prevention.
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6–8 weeks. Must be credentialed and found acceptable by Primary Care Nurse hiring authority prior to first shift.

Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and develop nursing care plans
- Administer medications and IV therapies; document all care in EHR before end of shift
- Verify/transcribe physician orders; no verbal orders accepted (except per facility policy)
- Monitor and report patient conditions to charge nurse/physician
- Perform skin assessments; HAPU prevention measures
- Operate defibrillator, EKG, and cardiac monitoring equipment
- Participate in discharge planning; initiate life-saving measures in absence of physician
- Maintain central line and ventilator care per HCS policy
- Review lab data and electronic medical records each shift
- Participate in team huddles, weekly nursing calls, and quality improvement activities
- Report patient complaints to COR within 24 hours; safety incidents within 24 hours
