Shift Schedule
- Day Shifts:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night Shift:
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Coverage: 7 days/week including holidays
- Day Shifts: 10–30 shifts/month
- Night Shifts: 15–30 shifts/month
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, DC, or Puerto Rico
- Board Certified / Board Eligible (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Required)
Special Skills Needed
- Inpatient hospitalist care (ICU Med/Surg units)
- Admissions, rounding, discharge planning
- Emergency response & critical care management
- Ability to perform procedures (central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, etc.)
- Strong EHR/documentation skills
- Ability to work in federal/tribal healthcare settings
- Scheduling & continuity management capability (for contractor side)
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient hospitalist services including admissions, evaluations, and medical management
- Perform daily rounds in ICU and medical/surgical units
- Respond to urgent/emergent patient care needs during shifts
- Coordinate care including transfers, discharges, and referrals
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation (within 24 hours)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and government medical staff
- Perform inpatient procedures as privileged
- Ensure compliance with IHS, CMS, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Provide consultation to ER and other departments
- Assist in bed placement, transfers, and care coordination
