Timings
- May work an alternate schedule of 4 days/week, 10 hours/day. Occasional non-standard shifts may be required to meet mission needs, coordinated in advance with the COR.
Role Summary
- Manages the Center’s radiation safety programs: ionizing radiation, radiofrequency/microwave radiation, and laser/non-laser optical radiation.
- Serves as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), Laser Safety Officer (LSO), and Radiofrequency Safety Officer (RFSO).
- Formal and/or military education in health physics.
- At least four (4) years of experience in the professional practice of health physics.
- Minimum three (3) years served as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and/or Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
- Required training, certifications, and experience as RSO, LSO, and RFSO. If RFSO or LSO certification is not held at start, it must be obtained within the first 3 months of the contract (at contractor expense).
- DOT/IATA Shipping of Radioactive Material certification (DOT every 3 years; IATA every 2 years).
