Job Title: Genetic Counselor

Client: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – Genomic Medicine Program
Location: Remote – Telemedicine
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Compensation: $100k - 110k per year
Position Overview
We are seeking a Genetic Counselor to provide comprehensive genetic counseling services through a 100% remote telemedicine model. The role includes risk assessment, patient education, genetic testing coordination, and communication of genetic test results.
Responsibilities
- Conduct genetic counseling consultations via telemedicine.
- Review medical and family histories and assess genetic risk.
- Educate patients about inheritance, recurrence risks, genetic conditions, and screening options.
- Recommend and coordinate appropriate genetic testing.
- Communicate genetic test results to patients and providers.
- Provide counseling, follow-up recommendations, and appropriate resources.
- Document clinical activities in the EHR.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABGC, as applicable.
- Current, full, and unrestricted state licensure where required.
- Current BLS certification or equivalent.
- Strong communication and counseling skills.
- Comfortable providing services through telemedicine.
