SUMMARY: Our Welder is responsible for reading blueprints and shop drawings to perform welding related work orders on prefabbed structural steel for various engineering jobs.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Study and interpret drawings or blueprints to understand structural welding requirements.
- Perform MIG welding process.
- Select appropriate welding tools and equipment based on the job requirements.
- Operate grinder to prepare and finish welds.
- Operate beam rotators, beam transfers, or other machines as required.
- Operate magnetic drill or other tools as required.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Detect and correct defects in welds, such as porosity or incomplete penetration.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and detect flaws in equipment as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Must be able to pass a 1G Limited Weld Test.
- Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Exposure to welding fumes, bright light (arc flash), heat, sparks, and airborne particles.
- Everyday use of PPE including flame-resistant clothing, welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe boots.
- Climate conditions vary in production areas from hot in the summer to cold in the winter.
