JOB TITLE: CDL Class A Driver

DEPARTMENT: PML - Logistics

LOCATION: Amarillo, TX

PAY: Starting pay - $21/hr

SUMMARY: Our CDL Class A Driver is responsible for transporting and unloading material at our retail store locations and other customer job locations. Will be home daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport materials from our manufacturing facility to retail and customer locations.
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.
• Assist in the loading/unloading of freight.
• Secure cargo on truck
• Frequently requires overnight stays at hotels or in truck sleeper.
• Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Communicate effectively with manager, dispatcher, customers, team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

• CDL Class A License required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and maps.
• Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs convictions within the last ten (10) years.
• No preventable accidents* while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable* DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten (10) years.
• No preventable accidents* resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history (commercial motor vehicle).
• Successfully pass driver physical exam

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to sit and drive for long periods of time.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl, climb, push, pull.
• Required to reach with hands and use arms to climb and balance.
• Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Frequently required to talk and hear.

• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
• Must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
