SUMMARY: Our IT Systems Developer is a versatile professional skilled in both backend web development and IT infrastructure. They specialize in building and maintaining robust PHP and SQL-based applications with minimal front-end requirements. In addition to software development, they support IT operations by assisting with server management, network troubleshooting, and system integration tasks. Their work ensures that applications are secure, reliable, and accurately aligned with business needs, while also contributing to the overall health of our IT environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and own production web applications using PHP, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL, leveraging modern frameworks such as Laravel and Symfony.
• Design, optimize, and refactor complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas to support performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Collaborate closely with IT and business teams to design, implement, and improve integrations between web applications and networked systems.
• Work independently within a Linux environment, including command-line operations, server configuration, log analysis, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot application performance, database connectivity, and server-side issues in production environments.
• Provide hands-on support for network diagnostics, server configuration, and systems troubleshooting, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Implement and maintain application and data security best practices, including access controls, patching, and compliance-related safeguards.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for code, system configurations, and application architecture to support long-term maintainability.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on professional experience developing and supporting web applications and IT systems.
• 3–5 years of professional experience building and maintaining PHP-based applications and managing SQL databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL).
• 2–3 years of experience supporting IT systems, including Linux servers, networking, or systems administration tasks.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
• High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation and code quality.
