What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator/Fitter position at Prime Marine Services, Inc.?
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to read prints, and or other work orders for various projects.
- Must be able to fabricate according to prints and drawings.
- Reviews plans and procedures for fabrication and repair of equipment.
- Ensures proper steel is used for fabrication.
- Proper preheating and post heating methods are followed.
- Maintains all equipment in good working order; including all personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintains working area in clean and organized manner.
- Reports any materials needed to supervisor.
- Must read and exhibit understanding of the safety manual.
- Must have the skill to use oxygen-acetylene cutting equipment.
- Must have the ability to operate power tools such as grinders, pneumatic buster, chipper hammer and drills.
- Must have the ability to operate machinery.
- Reports to Shop Foreman, Manager and Owner/President.
Work Performed:
Various welding, brazing and cutting using various gas, diesel and electric methods as needed.
Requirements: Must have Fabricator/Fitter background with minimum of 4-5 years experience.
