Job Summary
We are a Building Supply Company located in Brooklyn NY seeking a reliable and skilled CDL B Flatbed Truck Driver to join our transportation team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Flatebed Truck, while ensuring the material is securly strapped to the truck.
This role requires a commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate diverse routes efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive CDL B Flatbed Truck
- Load and unload freight as necessary, including helping the customer unload the material .
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a safe driving record.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or changes in delivery schedules.
- Assist with the maintenance of the truck by reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B ) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., flatbed, tanker).
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a strong understanding of route driving and freight handling.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other loading equipment is a plus.
- Experience operating a Forklift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
