Your Impact
The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and operational consistency of Prime Hospitality Group. Reporting to the Multi-unit Director of Finance, this role is responsible for executing accurate accounting processes, supporting a developing accounting team, and serving as a reliable financial partner to General Managers.
This position helps translate financial standards into daily execution, ensuring that restaurants and hotels have timely, accurate information and practical support. Your Responsibilities
Accounting Operations and Execution
- Support day-to-day accounting operations for PHG’s restaurant and hotel locations across multiple states
- Execute month-end close activities in Restaurant365, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance review
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with company standards and established close timelines
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Prepare supporting schedules for audits, ERISA reporting, and regulatory filings as needed
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Restaurant Accountants
- Review work for accuracy and completeness, offering coaching and feedback to build technical skills
- Help reinforce documentation, checklists, and repeatable processes created by the finance leadership team
- Serve as a first point of escalation for routine accounting questions and issues
- Support General Managers by helping answer financial questions and clarifying P&L results
- Assist in preparing financial summaries and explanations that translate results into operational terms
- Reinforce financial best practices related to labor, cost of goods, and cash handling
- Partner with operations and the Director of Finance on follow-up related to financial action items
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes
- Prepare variance analyses and trend reporting to support decision-making
- Help maintain and track key performance indicators across locations
- Help administer restaurant systems reporting and ticketing platforms
- Support inventory controls, cost tracking, and margin monitoring initiatives
- Assist with personal property tax documentation, permits, and license tracking
- Partner with payroll to support accurate biweekly payroll processing
- Model a collaborative, service-oriented approach that supports PHG’s hospitality culture
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with operators and accounting teammates
- Balance attention to detail with responsiveness to operational needs
- Contribute to a team environment built on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Must be willing to work in Indianapolis office
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 4 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit environments
- Prior experience supporting or mentoring junior accounting staff
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and month-end close processes
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance partners
- Experience with Restaurant365 or similar multi-unit accounting systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment
- Leadership style grounded in collaboration, follow-through, and service to the business
