Department: Specialty Float Pool
Employment Type: Full Time
Shifts Available: Nights (7 pm to 7 am)
Location: Providence Medical Center—Kansas City, KS
The Float Pool Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple Critical Care units, including Emergency Department, ICU and CCU. This RN role offers flexibility and variety, supporting units during high census or staffing shortages while maintaining excellence in clinical practice and patient safety. The Registered Nurse gets the opportunity to build skills across multiple specialties,and exposure to diverse clinical environments for professional growth.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and documentation in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.Assist with procedures and operate unit-specific equipment safely.
- Adapt quickly to different unit protocols and maintain competency across multiple specialties.
- Uphold infection control standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for support staff; delegate tasks appropriately
Qualifications
Education, Work Experience & Qualifications:- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Previous Critical Care hospital experience
- Ventilator management experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
