Job Title: Permit Coordinator
Department: 10003 - Pre-Construction
Reports To: Director of Pre-Construction
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Permit Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and coordinating the necessary permits and
submittals for construction projects. This includes preparing permit applications, assembling
documents, tracking permits and revisions, communicating with plan reviewers, and handling
required administrative tasks to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all permit-related
activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit permit applications.
• Assemble necessary documents and building plans for permit applications.
• Communicate with plan reviewers to ensure permit requirements are met.
• Relay building permit requirements to the project team and ensure they are followed.
• Initiate responses to building official comments and revisions needed for permits.
• Track all required building and sub permits, ensuring their timely completion.
• Calculate permit and impact fees based on schedules provided by municipalities.
• Maintain logs for permits and revisions to ensure proper documentation.
• Report the status of permits to the supervisor regularly.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 1–2 years of related experience in permitting or construction administration, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of the construction permit process.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and
procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including project teams
and plan reviewers.

measurements.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram
instructions.
Physical Demands:
