What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer IV position at Primary Talent Partners?
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Engineer IV with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 36-month contract with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position - 3 days a week in office.
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Description:
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning of protective circuits using Omicron and Doble test sets
- Analyses and reporting of fault responses and breaker operations
- Experience with hands-on troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment failures to determine root-cause and necessary resolution actions
- Familiarity with microprocessor-based relaying
- Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic
- Experience with relay settings calculations for protective relays associated with Inverter Based Resources
- Interpret and develop relay logic with microprocessor-based relays
- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
- Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
- Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.
- Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
- They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. - ≥ 10-15 years discipline experience and a unique SME skill
- Knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Diagrams and schematics associated with DER site equipment are a plus. (relays, inverters, UPS systems, etc.)
- Some travel may be required, worker will be required to drive their personal vehicle with mileage reimbursed.
- A Bachelor's in Engineering and a PE is required for this role.
- Master's degree is not required, but preferred.
