Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Tax Analyst to support a prestigious client in the regulated natural gas utility industry. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the tax accounting and compliance functions of a large, expanding organization with operations across multiple jurisdictions. The Tax Analyst will play a key role in preparing tax reporting, supporting compliance activities, assisting with audits, and maintaining accurate financial records while collaborating with accounting and finance professionals across the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tax accruals and maintain supporting workpapers.
- Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales and use tax filings.
- Support property tax reporting and compliance activities.
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
- Monitor filing deadlines and maintain compliance records.
- Support the development and enhancement of tax processes and internal controls.
- Research applicable tax regulations and assist with compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Maintain accurate tax documentation and support reporting requirements.
- Perform additional tax accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1β3 years of accounting, tax, or related professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and account reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of state and local tax compliance processes.
- Experience preparing tax accruals and supporting tax filings.
- Utility or regulated industry experience preferred.
- Exposure to state and local tax (SALT) requirements preferred.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA certification preferred.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
