Operations Manager

Primary Services is recruiting an Operations Manager for a large international terminal operator, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational performance across a high-complexity energy logistics facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations while driving continuous improvement, staff development, and compliance across all terminal functions. Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities of the operations department, including operators and coordinators.
• Oversee terminal control room, marine, truck, rail, and pipeline operations to ensure safe and efficient performance.
• Monitor and enforce HSSE policies, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations of incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with logistics, engineering, marketing, and maintenance teams to resolve operational and project-related issues.
• Review and approve operating procedures, inspection records, and calibration activities for process equipment.
• Support capital projects, budgeting processes, and operational improvement initiatives across the facility.
• Maintain oversight of SAP systems and operational data tracking to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide training, coaching, and development to operations personnel to enhance technical capability and performance.
• Authorize operational decisions, including stopping operations when safety or compliance risks are identified.
• Participate in audits and ensure readiness for inspections by regulatory and third-party agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in midstream oil & gas or terminal operations environments.
• At least 5 years of leadership or management experience in industrial operations.
• Proven experience in chemical, petroleum, or terminal facility operations required.
• Working knowledge of SAP and operational management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.
• Experience with HSSE management systems, safety compliance, and regulatory interfaces.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
• Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and safety training requirements.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and meet physical requirements for industrial environments.
