Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Director of Indirect Procurement to support a large and well-established organization in the chemical manufacturing industry. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced procurement professional with expertise in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) sourcing, supplier management, and strategic purchasing. The Director will oversee procurement strategies, optimize supplier performance, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives. This hybrid position is based in the Energy Corridor and requires travel 1–2 times per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for MRO materials, equipment, and services.
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Establish long-term procurement strategies that improve cost, quality, and supply continuity.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Analyze procurement data, market trends, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Drive inventory optimization and improve material availability while reducing excess inventory.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes and operational efficiency.
- Support budget planning, forecasting, and procurement reporting for executive leadership.
- Mentor and develop procurement professionals while promoting best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of progressive procurement experience, including significant MRO sourcing experience.
- Experience leading procurement teams within the chemical, manufacturing, industrial, or energy industries.
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier agreements and strategic contracts.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and procurement best practices.
- Experience managing procurement budgets, supplier performance metrics, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Ability to travel 1–2 times per week as business needs require.
Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
