Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Category Specialist - Materials to support a major enterprise operating in the essential services and infrastructure sector. This role offers the chance to contribute to large-scale sourcing initiatives designed to strengthen operational continuity during emergencies and high-impact events. Leveraging your electrical sourcing expertise, you will drive strategies that enhance resilience and ensure rapid supplier response across complex, matrixed environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support emergency sourcing strategies for disaster response, power restoration, and critical infrastructure continuity.
- Manage full-cycle RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes, including supplier identification, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Conduct spend analysis, supplier risk assessments, and category strategy development aligned with organizational resilience goals.
- Build and maintain a vetted supplier network capable of rapid mobilization and scalable support during critical events.
- Support contract lifecycle management with an emphasis on emergency readiness terms, compliance, and performance obligations.
- Collaborate with legal, operations, and emergency management teams to ensure contract flexibility and supplier accountability.
- Develop playbooks, dashboards, and tools that enhance procurement responsiveness during natural disasters and high-impact operational disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of procurement or sourcing experience, ideally within chemical plants, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations of 5,000 employees.
- Deep knowledge of emergency procurement protocols, rapid sourcing methodologies, and vendor management.
- Proficiency with AI-enabled sourcing platforms, analytics dashboards, and procurement technologies.
- Strong experience in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and analytical evaluation.
