Overview
We are looking for a medical assistant for a new medical group in Hilo. Ideal candidate is hard working, punctual, and polite. Must be a able to learn tasks quickly and be able to keep up with a fast paced environment.
This is an ideal position for someone who wants to work with people in the healthcare field. Willing to train the right candidate but experience welcome. Work in a positive, non-corporate, supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures by collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as administering vaccines.
- Support physicians during examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or long-term care facilities.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and coordinating follow-up care.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Document medical information using ICD coding and ensure accurate record-keeping for billing and compliance purposes.
- Provide compassionate patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and offering reassurance throughout their visit.
Qualifications
- Prior experience work experience with 3 professional references.
- Up to date with standard vaccinations
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings
