Welder

Position: Welder – 1st Shift

Location: Arcade, NY

Salary: $24–30/hour

Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Welder to join our client’s team in Arcade, NY. In this role, you will set up weldments according to blueprint specifications, place and align jigs and fixtures to hold parts, and mount workpieces onto welding positioners. You may also position C-clamps, bar clamps, shims, wedges, and spacers to properly align weldments in preparation for welding. The position utilizes state-of-the-art welding technology to assemble metal fabricated assemblies and subassemblies, following blueprint specifications. Welding methods may include arc, shielded arc, flux core gas shielded, MIG, and TIG processes.

Overtime required.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school graduate with a minimum of 2-year vocational school education in welding technology.
• Welding training in accordance with AWS 14.1 welding code (certification desirable).
• 3–5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must possess knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Physically capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Starting Salary: $24–30/hour depending on experience. Performance evaluations occur every 90 days with eligibility for pay increases based on performance at 90, 180, and 270 days.
