Job description: Gym Owner Assistant
Job Summary
A Gym Owner Assistant is a key support role for the gym's owner, helping to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the member customer service. This position ensures a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for members while supporting staff and helping to achieve the business's financial goals.
This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, driving membership growth and retention.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Assist in overseeing all daily gym operations to ensure high-quality member experience.
- Support the owner with administrative tasks, such as managing inventory, following up with members, and tracking key business metrics.
- Helping with new member introduction to the gym, answering any questions pertaining to customer service.
- Learn how to administer all the facility assessments.
- Member Services and Sales
- Maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests.
- Handle all front desk duties, including member check-ins, answering phones, and addressing member requests or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective members and assist in signing up new members.
- Help develop and implement strategies to increase membership sales and improve member retention.
- Promote gym events, classes, and other programs to maximize member engagement.
Qualifications and skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a gym, fitness center, or customer-service-oriented environment is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with gym management software is a plus.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about fitness and customer service.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certifications are often required or must be obtained shortly after employment.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Must take part in physical fitness
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
