Vegetation Associate

Job Summary

The Vegetation Associate plays an important role in maintaining the health and quality of vegetative cannabis plants. This position is responsible for performing daily vegetation activities including pruning, topping, transplanting, plant maintenance, and inventory tracking. The Vegetation Associate works closely with cultivation leadership and team members to support healthy plant growth, maintain accurate records, and ensure a consistent supply of plants for production needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

•       Perform vegetation maintenance activities, including pruning, topping, transplanting, and general plant care, according to established procedures and schedules.
•       Monitor plant health and promptly report any concerns, abnormalities, pests, diseases, or deficiencies to management.
•       Assist with maintaining vegetation schedules, including pruning, topping, transplanting, and light ramping (hardening off) activities.
•       Support cultivation teams in preparing plants for transfer to flower rooms and assist with move-in activities as directed.
•       Maintain accurate inventory records of vegetative plants using systems such as Trellis, Google Sheets, or other company-approved tracking methods.
•       Assist with plant counts and inventory reconciliation to ensure accurate records and sufficient plant supply.
•       Print travelers for new batches and accurately record cultivation activities as required.
•       Collect and record cultivation data to support department goals and operational efficiency.
•       Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing cannabis cultivation.
•       Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
•       Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety requirements.
•       Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support cultivation operations.
  
  

Qualifications

•       High School diploma or equivalent training and experience required.
•       Prior experience in cannabis cultivation, agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse operations, or related field preferred.
•       Basic knowledge of vegetation care techniques, including pruning, topping, and transplanting.
•       Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and schedules accurately.
•       Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
•       Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•       Basic computer skills and experience with inventory tracking systems preferred.
•       Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet operational demands.
•       Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check as required by state regulations.
•       Must possess a valid Desert Hot Springs CID Badge.
•       Must be reliable, dependable, and maintain a strong work ethic.
  
  

Work Environment

•           This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff.

Job Requirements

•         Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
•         Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
•         Must be able to travel to other office locations.
•         Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.
•         Required to have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.
•         Must be 21 years of age or older.
•         Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
•         Selected candidates will be required to complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
