Janitor

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the cultivation and distribution facility. This position supports a safe, compliant, and professional work environment by performing routine cleaning, waste removal, sanitation, and facility upkeep tasks throughout production, warehouse, office, breakroom, restroom, and common areas. The Janitor plays an important role in ensuring facility cleanliness standards are consistently maintained in accordance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable cannabis industry regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, production areas, warehouses, and other facility spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors, walls, windows, and surfaces throughout the facility.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish paper products, soap, and other supplies as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of employee common areas, including breakrooms, conference rooms, and reception areas.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including door handles, tables, counters, equipment, and shared workspaces.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Assist with facility organization and upkeep to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Report facility maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or sanitation issues to management.
• Support special cleaning projects, deep cleaning activities, and facility preparation for inspections or audits.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and security requirements.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations applicable to cannabis operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, warehouse cleaning, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to manufacturer instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks and obtain and maintain any required facility access credentials, including a valid Desert Hot Springs CID Badge.

Work Environment

• This position works primarily in an indoor cultivation, manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.
• May be exposed to bright lighting, cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, dust, cannabis odors, moving mechanical equipment, and varying temperatures throughout the facility.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.

• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as business needs require.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and proprietary information.
• Must comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and cannabis industry regulations.
• Selected candidates will be required to complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check through local law enforcement or the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
